RIFF ’09: Day Two
Jumping straight to the point, and here’s the lowdown on how RIFF ’09 day two will go down.
Friday, August 28
Screening Block C is one of the most varried blocks of movies at RIFF this year. Starting at 2:00 PM, it includes the only animated film, one of the most ridiculous films, and the only student feature film. It’s not too hard to guess which is which, but knowing that would ruin the surprise of seeing it! Like all of the other major screenings, this is held in the Library Theater.
There isn’t much I can say about Screening Block D, starting at 5:00 PM, it is the only block with only one movie. ”Billy Was a Deaf Kid” is a two-hour long comedy about adult children.
At 8:00 PM RIFF is hosting a “Brew Interlude” at the Capital Ale House. This is pretty self-explanatory, but that won’t stop me. Here you can stop by and grab a few drinks with some of the people who helped make RIFF happen, as well as other RIFF attendees, and it doesn’t require a pass.
11:00 PM: Screening Block E starts with two short films, and ends with a feature film that has gotten a lot of positive buzz. If you’re available Saturday night be sure you comes see the whole show, but Shadows is a special treat, and the end of day two of RIFF ’09.
If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, be sure to do so here.
